What a great choice of words. The only person I ever knew to routinely use “ghastly” in conversation was your late grandmother. I can still hear her describing something as such, with the faint tinkling of ice in the background…

Affected, perhaps, but unquestionably effective. Some things in life are just that– ghastly.
