Small observation:
I love how all these things that are markers of eco-conscious consumption and enlightened, attachment parenting in middle-class America–extended breastfeeding, babywearing, local produce, and free-range poultry and eggs–are, in Malawi, simply “how we do those things.” Hmn.
I just wore Lilianna the other day in my Moby wrap on a 2 mile walk to and from the park. She loved it! I hope you are enjoying all the new experiences in Malawi.
Yeah, I would imagine that “local produce” is a redundant phrase in your neck of the woods.
Love it. Amazing how we feel we have to dig and search for wisdom and the best ways to do things, and yet we were the ones who buried the wisdom in the first place. What a weird cycle.
Old is the new new…
And new is the same old same old.
