I especially liked the quote from Marilynne Robinson. ;)

My husband and one of our sons are just home from a church trip where they slept for a few nights w a family in rural, SE Mexico. Ian, my 15 year old has always liked meat and eats it at other people’s houses although we “only” eat fish at home. David hasn’t eaten meat other than seafood for something like 20 years, but I was GLAD to hear that when his host family served them meals, they ate whatever was set before them. Beef, chicken, goat. However, and I rather pointedly emphasized this to Ian, the meat wasn’t factory farmed, but animals were ones they saw walking around out back the day or morning before. Anyway. Love this. Well done.
